What makes our group classes different?

Most “group fitness classes” in Battersea fall into one of two categories – either generic bootcamp-style sessions or HIIT classes designed to make you sweat without much structure behind them.

Strength Lab LDN’s Group Classes are different. They’re small group strength and conditioning sessions, programmed and led by qualified S&C coaches. You get the energy and accountability of a group setting with the technical coaching and progressive programming of personal training.

That means you’re not just being shouted at to do more burpees. You’re learning to squat, deadlift, press, and pull properly – and getting stronger week on week.

What classes are available?

Strength Sessions A & B

Coach-led small group sessions built around strength and conditioning principles. Includes barbell work, free weights, and bodyweight exercises. Programming changes regularly so you keep progressing rather than repeating the same workout.

Calibrate (HIIT)

Higher-intensity conditioning sessions for when you want a harder cardiovascular hit. Still coached, still structured – not random.

Sunday Recovery Sessions

Yoga combined with sound therapy. A structured recovery session built into the week, helping you train harder Monday to Saturday.

  • £400 – 20-class pack (6-month expiry)

Group classes vs personal training – which is better?

Group classes are better if you…

  • Have at least basic gym experience
  • Train well in a group environment
  • Want structure and coaching but not 1-to-1 attention every session
  • Are looking for the most cost-efficient way to train multiple times a week
  • Enjoy the accountability of training alongside others

Personal training is better if you…

  • Are completely new to training
  • Have specific goals that need bespoke programming
  • Are working through an injury or rehab process
  • Want full attention on your technique every session
  • Train better when you have an exact programme to follow

If you’re not sure, most clients start with a few personal training sessions to learn the basics, then transition into group classes once they’re confident with the key movements.

Are group classes suitable for beginners?

Yes. Coaches scale exercises and loads to each individual within the class. A beginner can train alongside someone with five years of training experience and both will get an appropriate session.

That said, if you’ve never lifted a barbell before, we’d recommend starting with one or two PT sessions first to learn squat, hinge, and press patterns. After that, group classes become much more productive.
