Private Gym in Battersea
Short answer: A private gym means coach-led, closed-access training rather than open-membership commercial gym access. Strength Lab LDN at 189 Battersea Park Rd, SW11 4LB is a private S&C studio – 1,450 sq ft of dedicated training space, qualified coaches, and bespoke programming. No queues, no crowds.
What is a private gym?
A private gym is a closed-access training facility – not open to the general public on a standard monthly membership. Access is through coach-led services: 1-to-1 personal training, small group classes, or structured programmes.
The trade-off is straightforward: private gyms cost more per month than commercial gyms, but you get coaching, no equipment queues, no crowds, and a much higher standard of programming.
For most serious trainees – especially those training 3+ times a week or working towards specific goals – the maths usually works out in private’s favour.

Is a private gym worth it?
For some people, no – if you’re a confident, self-programmed lifter who just wants somewhere to train independently for £40-£60 a month, a commercial gym makes more sense.
For most people, especially those who:
- Aren’t sure what to do in a gym
- Have specific goals (strength, sport performance, body composition, rehab)
- Have struggled with consistency at commercial gyms
- Have an injury or rehab need
- Value time and want to make every session count
A private gym pays for itself in faster progress, fewer injuries, and not wasting hours scrolling through your phone between sets.
